WEST Bromwich Albion player and  Nigerian Super Eagle Player  Peter Osaze Odemwingie had to take a few digs from his Manchester City FC supporting father-in-law during a speech when he tied the knot with girlfriend Sarah Fallon this passed weekend. The 30-year-old striker was said to have taken the friendly banter in good spirits during the speeches at the star’s wedding to fiancé Sarah Fallon.

Sarah’s sister Emma, 21, who was maid of honour at the wedding, said, “Dad’s a big Man City fan and must have mentioned the club about 10 times in his father of the bride speech..”

Around 250 guests attended the service, held at a small church in the grounds of Castle Ashby in Northampton on Saturday.

“The service was beautiful, Pete and Sarah both shed a tear, it was very emotional,” added Emma.

The ceremony was followed by a four-course wedding breakfast then “nightclub-style” entertainment with British Multi Award Wining  DJ Lekan Kamson in a marquee in the grounds of the castle.

Emma, who would not reveal the cost of the wedding, said: “It was lavish in that Sarah and Pete were able to chose the best of what they wanted, but it was by no means over the top or your typical WAG wedding.” 

“Sarah’s dress was beautiful and the marquee was dressed all in white with candles floating in bowls on the tables and white flowers everywhere.”

An insider said Sarah, 22, who originally hails from Alvechurch in Worcestershire, was the perfect match for Odemwingie , who she has been dating for two years.

Many of The Premier League Footballers were there to grace the stunning couple including Shola Ameobi, Etuhu  and Chelsea Interim Manger Roberto Di Matteo.

DJ Lekan Kamson speaking to a Correspondent said, “The Firework was Awesome ,I heard it cost about £20,000 for the fireworks alone”. The Ikorodu Born DJ said it is by far the best wedding he had DJ’ed in his life.  He said Osaze had so much fun that he took off his shirt.

Speaking further he said: “All Sarah’s friends screamed my name when I played Oliver twist, Kukere , Rugged baba and Today today ….. “

When asked how much he was payed to DJ at the event said:  “The money is a Enough to buy a 2008 BMW 5 series. All this premiership footballers are all over me”

The reception took place at the castle which is  one of the most exclusive  Wedding Venue  in the UK. It is where most Royal Weddings are held.

An insider told us that the cost of the wedding paid to Jaquelyn Kennedy luxury weddings  for planning is about £178,000. That amount excludes amount spent to fly people in first class from diffrent parts of the world plus hotel bookings.
