A man going by the name Akpotejere Osuna has been arrested by the Delta State Police Command for killing the eight day-old baby for rituals. Mr Osuna confessed to abducting the child of his step-daughter while her mother was sleeping.

Mr Akpotejere  Osuna made a confessional statement to the police that he killed her for a ritual purposes and that he was going to take her body parts to Ghana for a money making ritual exercise.  In the statement, he confessed that he took the baby away to a nearby bush and slaughtered her. After he killed the baby, Mr Osuna was alleged to have opened her up and then proceed to remove the heart, the tongue and other parts of the baby.

In a statement, Delta State Police command said:

“The suspect sneaked into the house of the mother of the baby, took the baby into the bush where he murdered the child, cut of the heart and the tongue, wrapped them in a polythene bag, pocketed them and melted into the bush.”

Mr Osuna is currently being detained and is awaiting trial.
