Who killed the Mic? Comedy and Award show | NRC Red Carpet Photos UPDATED

New York, Sunday July 4th – The comedy show and Image awards night was certainly rib cracking as one will expect – with Basket Mouth hosting. The night saw Seyi Brown, Jedi, and Gina Yashere entertaining the audience with Laugh Out Loud jokes…

Oh yeah, lest I forget the two incidents that occurred during the night…

1. The Wale Gates incident; apparently someone didn’t brief Wale Gates about his audiences or he didn’t do his own homework/research. Fact: The reunion is a family oriented show. So when Wale got on stage and started throwing the F bomb incessantly, it was almost a reflex action for the organizers to cut his mic. He actually was making a whole joke about “FUCK.” I’m not sure about the context of the word, as in is WTF context or in a sexual context -_- ***It has been reported that Wale Gates was rushed off the stage and DID NOT use vulgar language as previously reported***

2. Its expected to get heckled when making political comments in the US, that’s the lesson Dele Momodu surely learnt on Sunday night. While making clear his opposition to former Nigerian dictator, Ibrahim Babangida’s candidacy for the 2011 elections in Nigeria – an overzealous Babangida supporter made his presence known by heckling and making threats…

Momodu received an image award on leadership.
