I suspect it was strictly a business move on the path of the promoters in Philadelphia to wait a week to hold their own independence day party. You know holding the event on the same day as the parade and parties in New York will in all likely-hood be a recipe for a resounding failure.

The move by the promoters paid-off, at least going by the turn out at the venue, Club Sikira in Philly. With people from New Jersey, New York, and MaryLand making the drive down to Philly. An some of the folks at this event, I saw at the New York parade.
