July 17, Newark, NJ. So the venue was the Ariya Plaza in Newark for Olu maintain’s album release party. Put together by Jade Image Entertainment it was an opportunity to see the Kentro Kamikaze man at work. It was also an opportunity to see up coming artists perform, Artists such as the Tannaz crew, Abby Oyebade (exceptional song) and a certain AfroCandy (Ikebe na money!) Olu maintain’s appearance will definitely remind us why we think the man is one of the most swagger oriented individuals we have in the Nigeria music scene. Ballads such as Fatima, Mosquito, Halleluyah and the chart busting Yahozee got the crowd getting groovy despite the abysmal sound system. Supporting Olu maintain on stage was the Crazy Bondo (gee man this guy looked like he was on something that only him could explain) and Mr. Flo who’s presence made the whole experience worthwhile.

We think Jadeimage entertainment did a good thing by throwing an event like this. It’s not everyday you get to see Olu maintain perform. Nice work guys!
