With the development of music in Nigeria, we are beginning to see the music industry buy into the culture of video vixens. In most countries, Video vixens are usually frowned upon and are perceived as talentless beings that use music videos as a quick route to fame. In America and Britain, countless numbers of women have used the opportunity to appear in video as stepping stone to modelling and acting. Some people see them as women who are loose in nature and in America; a video vixen could easily be called a groupie.
In Nigeria, the “video vixen industry” (Forgive our cynicism) is picking up bit by bit. We have noticed some familiar faces in music videos and of recent, we have noticed a slim chic with a emmmhhh “No tiddies syndrome” (Forgive our cynicism again) make multiple appearances in several music videos.
We first saw her in a music video by an artist called Mudina. Mudina featured rapper vector in a hit track called Like Pami and this slim model/Lepa looking chic can be seen dance provocatively the artiste.
Recently, she has featured in the music videos of Sauce Kid and 2face. In Sauce Kid’s video, she plays the role of Don jazzy’s girlfriend who has a lesbian romp with a girlfriend and 2Face’s video she can be seen dance close to the artiste.
The thing about video vixens is that they are usually popular and they have a personality to them. But we are yet to know the identity of this girl. The culture we have in Nigeria has not yet bought into the idea of putting the spotlight on video vixens, so I guess that is the reason why she is not that popular yet. We implore anyone out there who knows who this girl is to give is a ring or at least send us an email. Let’s put a name to the face!
