Newark, NJ, April 10 – The Nigerian Healthcare Foundation Inc. whose mission is to stop the deterioration of Nigeria due to problems such as poverty, hunger, and disease, hosted the 5th annual Face of Hope banquet.
This year, the attendance exceeded the expectation with about 300 in attendance, according to Latrice Cole, the event coordinator.
In attendance were various distinguished ladies and gents, including New York Jets’ James Ihedigbo, and DR. George Abdelsayed, the Program Director, Gastroenterology at the Bridgeport Hospital in Connecticut. He spoke about the various curable diseases which keep claiming lives in Nigeria, and what can be done to curb and perhaps stop it.
The location was The Newark Club, on the 22nd floor of the Newark Center with sky line view of NYC in the horizon. Lots of prizes were won in the raffle draws, paintings, gift baskets, and most notably the new Apple iPad, with lots of accessories.
Future Plans
The immediate future plan for the organization is a Mission Trip to Nigeria in July (6th to 20th). Executive director, Ijeoma Obilo said during the trip, Temp Clinics will be setup.
