Paul Ado Bayero, the Grandson of the Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero, has revelaed in an interview that he is now a convert to the Christian religion.

In a statement, he said:
My name is Paul Ado Bayero. You may have been hearing of the grandson of the Emir of Kano (Northern Nigeria) Alhaji Ado Bayero, who converted to Christianity. You may have been wondering whether it is true or not; I tell you today that it is true for I am the one. I am a Hausa man, a typical Hausa man from Kano State, Nigeria, grandson of the Emir of Kano, my mother’s name is Jumai.

Of my mother’s children, I’m the only one that did not receive western education in an English speaking school. My mother was a devout Muslim who loved Islam and despised anything that was not Islamic. She used to abuse Christians. Anywhere she saw Christians she would curse them. Because of the disposition, she prevailed on my father to allow me to be trained in Islamic education. My father agreed because it was a thing of pride in Islam for one’s child to be properly schooled in Islamic teachings. It was more prestigious to send a child to an Islamic school than to an English speaking school. My father thus sent me to an Arabic school and I grew up according to the teachings of the Qur’an.

In the interview, Paul described how his brother on finding out that he had converted to Christianity took a knife, slashed his fingers and burnt his right hand.  He also said that his stomach was  ripped open with a knife and he ended up being thrown into a well. He was miraculously rescued from that well and the same Churches and Christians that he persecuted in the past took care of him and later sent him to Port Harcourt because of severe persecution.

Denrele

I wanted to write a short paragraph about this guy but I couldn’t come up with anything. So help me out here guys, what exactly does Denrele do?? Apart from his outrageous fashion sense and him being gay, why is he popular? ‘Cause I have absolutely no idea. But that’s not the case here. He threw a tantrum on twitter when an angry fan twitted about how irritating he was. I won’t say much, just check out the screenshots below.

A teenage boy in the United Arab Emirates has been sentenced to up to three years in juvenile detention for kissing two girls, The National newspaper reports. The 15-year-old boy, identified only as “M.A.,” was initially charged with breaking into a house and sexually assaulting two 13-year-old sisters after their father found him there and called the police.

But, says the Abu Dhabi-based newspaper, an investigation found that the two sisters — who were dating him at the time — had let him into the house. In an earlier hearing, the boy told the court that it was not the first time the girls had invited him inside and willingly kissed him.

That, in turn, prompted authorities to level similar charges at the two girls. At Sunday’s hearing, the sisters refused to answer the judge’s questions, neither denying nor confessing to the charges. The court ruled that the boy could be detained until he is 18, but said the sentence could be eased based upon the boy’s “readiness” and whether he is disciplined enough.

The newspaper says the girls “were to be delivered to their parents for discipline.”

MTV Base’s  Video Jockey Search winner  Cynthia Okpala has delivered a baby boy in the United States of America. The reality show winner is married to Ozoemena Mbanefo  and had been in the US for quite some time  waiting to deliver her baby.

It can be recalled that Cynthia won the MTV Base National VJ Search in 2007 and has since established herself as one of the most popular Video Jockey’s in the continent of Africa.  Sources close to the couple say that Ozoemena who is currently in Nigeria is quite elated about the news of the safe delivery a baby of his wife. Ozoemena and Cynthia got  married  in 2010.

Whenever her patients visited GP Lady Arabella Onslow for advice about weight or healthy lifestyle issues, she began the conversation with the same few words.

‘I know how hard this is. But this isn’t about me,’ she would say as she explained the need for regular exercise and smaller portions. ‘This is about you.’

For as she was handing out this lifestyle advice, Dr Onslow was grossly, even dangerously, overweight.  At her heaviest, the 41-year-old weighed 22st.  At 5ft 8in, this gave her a BMI of 46.2 (officially morbidly obese) and put her at high risk of a host of weight-related conditions, including diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease and osteoarthritis — the very same enemies she warned her overweight patients about each day in her NHS surgery in Dalton-in-Furness, Cumbria.

‘As a GP you listen to patients with all sorts of problems, and while not all of them are connected with weight, a lot can be — such as breathlessness, bad joints and diabetes,’ says Dr Onslow, whose father was the Earl of Onslow.

‘But when I had to tell a patient they would benefit from losing weight, I felt they were judging me. You could hardly ignore the fact I was obese.

‘I knew that at the very least I was giving tacit approval to someone who was overweight. If their own doctor, the person they went to for health advice, could be that fat, then surely it was OK for them to be fat, too.’

A Doctor’s lifestyle can affect their ability to do their job, as a survey published in the journal Obesity suggested.  This found that doctors who were overweight or obese were far less likely to diagnose obese patients than doctors who were a more normal weight.  Thirty per cent of doctors with a normal BMI were likely to talk to their obese patients about weight loss, while only 18 per cent of the heavier doctors would.

The Supreme Court has in a judgement delivered, Friday morning, sacked the five governors of Bayelsa, Adamawa, Sokoto, Cross River, Kogi state from their respective office.

SACKED: Timipre Sylva(Bayelsa) Magatakada Wamakko,(Sokoto) Liyel Imoke(Cross River) Ibrahim Idris(Kogi) and Murtala Nyako( Adamawa) were all sacked by the supreme court of Nigeria

In a unanimous decision, a 7-man panel of justices of the apex court, maintained that the affected governors exceeded the 4-years tenure that was specifically stipulated in section 180(2) of the 1999 constitution.

Counsequently,it made an order setting aside the two lower courts judgments that ab-initio elongated the tenure of the governors till this year. The affected governors are Timipre Sylva(Bayelsa) Magatakada Wamakko,(Sokoto) Liyel Imoke(Cross River) Ibrahim Idris(Kogi) and Murtala Nyako( Adamawa).

He was known to be the brain behind megaupload.com, a downloading site that gathered support from Celebrities accross America but now internet billionaire and Megaupload founder Kim Dotcom and three other people have been arrested.

The site which used to get millions of hits per day has also been closed by US authorities.  In a statement, the US Department of Justice (DoJ) said the site was the hub of an “international organised criminal enterprise” that was responsible for “massive worldwide online piracy of numerous types of copyrighted works.”

The US  Department of Justice  also claim that his site has generated more than $175 million in revenue and has caused copyright owners more than $500 million. Kim Schmitz was arrested in his base in Auckland, New Zealand  heavily armed police men who came in several number of helicopters and cars.

HIS ARREST

A 25-year-old security guard, Isa Yusuf, has been charged before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, for allegedly robbing his employer, Mrs. Ayo Ebunola, to the tune of N12 million.

Yusuf, who was remanded in prison custody at Apapa, allegedly arranged with a 14-man gang and invaded the victim’s house in the night at Durbar Estate, Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos, with charms, machetes and daggers. After the family had gone to bed, Yusuf allegedly brought in the men that robbed them. Reports say that Yusuf and his men allegedly stormed the place and charmed the dogs, and they did not bark while the four-hour operation lasted. The items the robbers carted away include jewellery, wrist watches and currencies in naira and dollar denominations, to the tune of N12 million.

After they reportedly sold the items at Apapa, sharing the proceeds became a problem. One of the robbers, who was not satisfied with the sharing formula, allegedly informed the residents that it was Yusuf that brought his gang to rob Ebunola. Yusuf was later arrested by the police from FESTAC Division and he confessed to committing the crime. He also named the members of his gang who are all foreigners from neighbouring countries.

When the police tried to trace the whereabouts of his accomplices, they discovered that they had all fled. When the matter came up in court, the accused pleaded not guilty and the presiding magistrate, Mr. A. K. Ogundare, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum. The matter was adjourned till 13 February 2012, while the defendant was remanded in prison custody at Apapa, Lagos.
