Its no longer news that Chelsea Football Club are the Club champions of Europe. They beat Bayern Munich on saturday via penalties and although many will argue that their unattractive football is against the flair of the game, Chelsea fans will make us believe that they have waited years to join the elites of europe and that it does not matter what style of football they played to win the Europe’s prestigious title.

While we have no qualms with Chelsea winning the Champions League, how does one explain Chelsea fans doing a thanksgiving service in a church to celebrate their victory? And that picture of a Ram (abi na goat?) been paraded in Church is just pure hilarity! And not only was the Ram offered as a thanksgiving offering, it was clad in Chelsea colours.

Chelsea we understand you have won the champions league, but all these lousy celebration of getting goats and rams to wear your jersey just makes you lot emmmhhh….. RAZZZZZZZ!!!!!

HEROINE CONCEALED IN HAIR....SMH

HAIR, they say is the beauty of a woman; and any woman who is blessed with rich hair texture is not only a pride to herself, but flaunts it jealously anywhere. However, some like Ms Vivian Chioma Metu, a 39-year-old self -acclaimed economics graduate of Lagos State University and single mother, do not necessarily see anything spectacular about this work of nature and so, threw decency to the dogs and went ahead to criminalize it.

Recently, a bewildered female operative of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos discovered a large chunk of powdery substances which tested for heroine tucked in -between her hair. The hard stuff which weighed 1.500kg was masterly concealed on the scalp of her head!

Ms. Vivian who was on her way to Guangzhou, China has successfully beaten all the security apparatus at the airport but luck ran against her after a female narcotic operative who admired her richly fixed hair approached her to know where she made it only to discover the strange substance.

On that fateful day, she had arrived the airport full of life; having checked in her luggages earlier. At the departure lounge and on an Ethiopian airline queue, Vivian radiated an uncommon glee and confidence, occasionally flogging around her neck and pampering her richly made hair with her long manicured nail.

What preoccupied her mind at the time was the $5,000.00 US that would grease her palm at the successful delivery of the substance unmindful of the fact that the worst moment of life was soon to take place. At the end of the rigorous search of her luggage, she was given the green light to proceed for boarding and happily she cat-walked, passed some fierce- looking security operatives, smiled lustfully at them, waved bye to her friends who saw her to the airport and moved on.

* Ms Vivian Chioma Metu, (the suspect).

Moments after, a female narcotic operative approached her and having exchanged pleasantries, casually requested to know the saloon on which the eye-catching hair was made. As the operative got closer, Vivian became uncomfortable and simply said she made it in one of the salons on Allen Avenue, Ikeja.

The operative admirably went further to feel the hair and in the process felt a hard portion. She stopped and became curious. Asked what was the bump on her scalp, Vivian simply muttered that she had burns on her scalp while fixing the hair and therefore, decided to cover the portion with a black cellophane. Dissatisfied, the operative excused her to a corner and of course, the bubble got burst. The bumps had in them, hard stuff which later tested positive for heroine. She was promptly arrested and she broke down in tears.

At the airport office of the anti-drug agency, Vivian in an emotion- laden voice confessed that she could not have taken to such criminality but for her ill-health adding that she needed some money to undergo a cancer operation. She claimed that she had spent so much on her health and that she was tired of borrowing. I know that my friends and family members will be disappointed at this but life has to go on. I need money to pay for a cancer operation abroad. He who is down need fear no fall.

I am an international business woman but I have been suffering from this terminal disease for a long time now and doctors said it could be operated on overseas. I need money for this and since that huge sums can not be sourced easily, I have to use what I have to get what I want. The hair belongs to me, but my health is much more important. The man I met for assistance told me to deliver this to somebody in China and make good money for myself; and that was it. I have spent so much money that I no longer have any saving but as it is now, I think I have to resign to fate,. she lamented.

The Airport Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Alhaji Hamza Umar who described the discovery as shocking however, said this was not the first time women were concealing hard drugs in their hair.

He said this attest to the fact that drug traffickers are running out of tricks following the agenc’s efforts at fighting trackers and barons alike to a stand still. This is not the first time drug traffickers and their sponsors are concealing drugs in their hair. They are definitely running out of tricks due to our counter efforts. This is good for the country because it clearly shows that no drug trafficker will go unpunished”

Even the police could not rescue him from the black magic that left him stuck between the legs of another man’s wife. You really have to see this believe it. Unbelievable!

At the pinnacle of his career he was dubbed the “Goals father” by adoring Nigerian soccer fans and just like his name, goals he did produce. Rashidi Yekini was a predator who constantly threatened defenders with his body movement and eye for goal. Standing at 6ft 3in, Rashidi Yekini was perfect for most of the crosses by his former Super Eagle team mate, Finid George.

As news of his death filtered through social media networks and blogs on the internet yesterday, there was a part of me that prayed that the news was not true. But knowing about his recent troubles and declining health (read our story here), the story of his death would probably have come as no surprise to some of us.

A slow starter, Rashidi did not start scoring consistently for Nigeria until he was coached by Dutch Man Clemens Westerhof. But saying that, his goal scoring record at club was enviable by all standards. At Victoria Setubal, a Portugese club where he spent most of his playing career, Rashidi Yekini scored a whopping 93 goals in 122 appearances.

One will not really know what killed Yekini, but it was obvious that after retiring from football he had personal problems that caused him to shut people out of his life. In 2010, he was chosen as a Nigerian Ambassador to the World Cup in South Africa but he refused to submit his passport at the request of Nigerian Football officials.

MEMORABLE: Rashidi Yekini's celebration for scoring Nigeria's first goal at the World Cup is one that we would never forget

Despite all the stories we heard about his mental state and his decline in his latter years, I will like to remember Yekini for the patriot he was. Passionate, committed and resilient, Rashidi Yekini was a man who represented Nigeria with great character. If you did not have the opportunity to watch Rashidi Yekini play in his prime, then you probably missed the best times we had in the history of Nigerian football.

Sadly, Rashidi Yekini would not get a state funeral someone of his calibre deserves because he is be buried quickly according to Muslim rites. I believe he has left a legacy for Nigerian football, something I think most of our young and up coming footballers can learn from. Now that Rashidi Yekini has gone to rest, who will break that 37 goals scoring record he set while playing for the Super Eagles of Nigeria? Who is committed enough to fill his boots? Who?

Break-ups always tends to be ugly but having your 32 set of teeth ripped out is definitely going to be mopre painful. A dentist in London is facing jail after surgically removing all of her ex-boyfriend’s teeth. Anna Mackowiak carried out the drastic act after she dumped was dumped by his ex-Marek Olszewski.

Marek Olszewski, 45, made the mistake of scheduling an appointment this week with his ex 34-year-old Anna Mackowiak — for a toothache. So Mackowiak allegedly did what any burned beau with a set of pliers and some anesthetic would do: she doped him up, pulled out all his teeth, and wrapped his head with bandages so he wouldn’t notice until he left her office.

NIGHTMARE: Anna Mackowiak faces jail time for removing all the 32 set of teeth of his ex! Oh Blimey!!!!

In a statement, Anna said: “I tried to be professional and detach myself from my emotions,”But when I saw him lying there I just thought, ‘What a bastard.’”

Soruces say Marek discovered something was wrong when he woke up from induced anesthetic and couldn’t feel any teeth in his mouth. But he said Anna assured him that he’d be fine once the numbness wore off

“I didn’t have any reason to doubt her — I mean I thought she was a professional,” he said.

In what seems like an irony, the wife of a serving police officer, Mrs. Amechi Ofem, 44, and her younger brother, have been linked with an armed robbery gang. The duo have thus been arrested by law enforcement agents in Anambra State.

Mrs. Ofem was also accused of administering treatment to the leader of the robbery gang, Patrick Ogah, who sustained bullet wounds during an encounter with the police.

She was arrested in her residence in Onitsha by a team of policemen from the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, three days after Easter Sunday. And her younger brother, Jude Eze, was nabbed in Ogbakogba in company with members of the gang at a hideout where they were receiving treatment.

But Ofem tearfully told Crime Digest that she was innocent.

“All my life, I have had nothing to do with robbers until I got a call from my brother (Eze) sometime in March. He told me that he needed me at Atani to treat a friend of his who had been involved in a car accident.

“Although I didn’t know who this person was, I went to Atani. Ogah was wounded in his lower arm. During the treatment, which lasted three days, I dressed his wounds and gave him injections.

“The bullet was already out before I treated Ogah. I had no way of knowing that it was a gunshot wound. When I noticed that he had a broken bone in his lower arm, I advised him to go to the hospital. Eze told me he would take his friends to the hospital and I went back home to Onitsha,” she said.

Mrs. Ofem said she received another telephone call asking her to come to Ogbakogba, where her brother and his friends had gone to seek the services of a herbalist, who was also a bone setter.

She said: “After the broken bones were fixed, the herbalist asked my brother to invite the nurse who had been caring for his friend before he would set the sticks that would be used to support the broken arm. I got this call on a Saturday and told Eze that I couldn’t make it to Ogbakogba until after Easter.

“On Easter Monday, I finally left Onitsha for Ogbakogba. When I met Eze’s wounded friend, I applied Cicatrin powder to his wound, and gave him an injection and went back to Onitsha that same day. I was shocked when the following Wednesday, a SARS team from Lagos traced me to my shop at Fegge, Onitsha.

“They told me that I had to lead them to a group of fleeing robbers with whom I had been in contact. Although I was horrified, I agreed to cooperate with them. We had to board a canoe from Onitsha to Ogbakogba on that day. I never suspected for once that Eze’s friends were robbers.”

But on his part, Eze, the only son of five children, admitted that he had known that Ogah was a robber. He however added that he was compelled to help the criminal because of his kindness to him in the past.
