Now, for many that aren’t familiar with Warri’s very own yung6ix, let me assist you in getting a bit familiarized. Yung6ix, or as he refers to himself, “6ix” is a rising artist, hailing from Warri, or what is known to him and his fans as “Waff City”. 6ix first gained widespread recognition when he released his own freestyle to Ice Prince’s very famous “Oleku” single. I myself must admit that I was impressed with the artist, and have kept an eye on him since then. He also partnered with Wizkid to produce another single titled “Follow me Go”. It has been established that the upcoming artist is working on his mixtape titled “Green White Green”. He has also on different occasions, spoken on working in the studio with Nigeria’s Rap star “M.I”. I believe it is safe to say that we’ll be seeing more of him as time goes by. Google continues to ramp up its operation and growth across Africa. Having opened offices in a number of African cities, including Nairobi (Kenya), Kampala (Uganda), Dakar (Senegal) and Lagos (Nigeria).

Its latest move is the localized YouTube websites for Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, and others. The localized youtube websites feature the country’s flag-inspired logo. And are  expected to display content relevant to the country the visitor is browsing from.

Amebor recently did an interview with NEA nominee for “most promising act to watch”, ZARA. We asked Zara some interesting questions that I am sure many of her fans out there will want to know. Check out the interview below, and the video for her latest single “Aboko Ku”.

1. To begin with, tell us how you got into music. And what/who would you say has been your biggest motivation so far?

My entrance into music was by “happenchance”. In the summer of 2006, my friend Keno Kenett pulled me into the studio to do back ups for him. In the process I did a rap verse and left it at that. Eldee the don heard the verse and told me to consider doing music because I sounded great. This was how I tapped back into “poetry writing me” of the past and worked with producer friends and started recording.

My biggest motivation so far is my love for creating, performing and my determination. I’m nowhere close to that artiste I would like to be and I work on it daily.

I’m glad you note say struggle yaapa for life no be only entertainment industry.

I will say my biggest struggle has been maintaining that balance between work (which is my music) and everything in between. I am driven by my career but I try to make time for a personal life.

Oh wow… I’ll tell you with all honesty, I don’t recognize “hate”. I understand that folk will always try to express themselves, and I believe they are free to. If they are being malicious in the process, it’s to ignore them and keep doing what I do, I’m down for constructive criticism as well but at day’s end, in regards to your creative work, the most important voices come from within. Even after ALL the professional input.

Nothing went wrong with the deal. Business decisions were re-evaluated and we mutually agreed to part ways.

The category “Most Promising Act to Watch” is a powerful one because it shows that my hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed. It also inspires me to achieve a LOT more. Promises are meant to be kept, and promising acts must to blow by God’s grace, Amen

Am sure he didn’t do it for the money, but it was refreshing to see a musical artiste join the #Oliver craze that has gripped the Nigerian entertainment scene of late. Yesterday, Eldee and Trybe records released a version of the #Oliver dance routine and he was quick to leverage the publicity by adding a bit of his own song HIGHER in the dance routine (We see U BIGBOY ).

Under strict instructions, the 53-year-old love-rat will not be allowed to contact Nicole Coste, the Togolese air hostess who fathered Albert’s third lovechild during his engagement to Charlene. Sources say they spent a night in separate hotels on their honeymoon.

The Sunderland and Ghana striker is heavily involved on the local music scene in his country and has featured in a number of hit songs.

Despite his relative success as a recording artist, former Black Stars striker, Felix Aboagye has expressed his concern on the effect music might have on Gyan’s career.
“It’s important for him to understand that if he wants to get to the top, he must stop the music and concentrate on the game,” Aboagye said.

Speaking in defence of himself, Gyan said:
“I love music but it doesn’t mean I’m not focused on the football. I’m very, very focused because football made me who I am today. I can’t play jokes with my job because if you joke with your job, your job will joke with you. I’m not a musician but I love music.”
