TolumiDE emerges with ‘For Me’, an easy listening soulful single that tells a ‘girl meets boy’ story, a dreamy expectation of a girl and her musings with lyrics that reflect the anticipation of finding that right partner with divine help. It is a song many women can relate to about the search for the ideal partner. It’s the new girl anthem for finding and looking forward to love.
TolumiDE is also excited to announce the launch of her brand new website www.TolumiDEmusic.com to showcase her work and her new image. Styled by Project Runways Season 3 contestant Johnathan Kayne, TolumiDE’s new campaign shots were orchestrated by International Public Relations firm, ICY Public Relations with lead photographer Melissa Hart-Cosper.

The new website provides the media and fans with a place to read, see and hear current news about TolumiDE, from her music videos; brand new editorial images; a blog/news page; and an events page to see performance images. Fans can also connect to TolumiDE on her Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Reverbnation pages through the website. Visitors to TolumiDEmusic.com will find the new site a lot more editorial, colorful, contemporary and user friendly.
Following the rave reviews and positive response to her previous title track ‘My Love’ from her 2010 album release; ‘For me’ is produced by Erik “EZee” Dennis, Mark Baker & TolumiDE, guitar by John Bashengezi and mixed and mastered by Blaise Tangelo. ‘For Me’ is on the “My Love album and is available on iTunes and Amazon MP3. To listen to ‘For Me’, log on to www.TolumiDEmusic.com.

I do not think you need to go and purchase a 32-piece brush set( except you are a makeup artist) but these makeup brushes, I believe, should be in every woman’s lil makeup bag.

Foundation brush: The foundation brush is used to apply liquid or cream foundation for a full coverage and flawless finish!

Concealer brush: This brush is great for applying concealer(one to two shades lighter than your skin tone) lightly to dark under eye circles, spots and blemishes.

Powder brush: I use this brush to apply setting powder evenly over my face or just to dust on some foundation powder when I’m in a hurry.

Blush brush: Use the blush brush to apply blush on the apples of your cheeks. Just smile and apply directly to your cheeks then sweep towards your hairline.

Eye shadow brush: Used to apply eye shadow. Make sure you blend your eye shadow in so there are no harsh lines.

Eyeliner brush: Perfect for putting on cream, or gel eye liner! Practice using a steady hand.

Eyebrow brush: Great for grooming the eyebrows.

Brushes worthy of mention: The Kabuki brush is an awesome 2 in 1 brush that can be used for both foundation and blush! The lip brush is great for applying lip colors and blending them too!

Your “friends” don’t like you if they let you step outside like that. Think of me as that friend who will ALWAYS tell you if your makeup’s a mess.

You are not blending well enough: I don’t know how many times I have to emphasize the need to blend. You have to make sure there are no harsh lines.

You simply put on TOO much makeup: Makeup is meant to enhance your natural beauty. A word is enough for the wise.

Your under eye concealer is too light or too dark for your skin tone: The concealer is supposed to cover dark circles or blemishes so try using a shade or two lighter than your skin tone.

You got too much blush on: I’m sure your intent wasn’t to look like a clown in photos. Use a light hand while applying the blush. It is supposed to highlight your cheekbones and also bring some color to your face. A little goes a long way.

Your foundation looks cakey: You either put too much on or the makeup brand is crappy. Either way, please stop it. Learn to start off small, then add as needed.

You are wearing bad false lashes: If your false lashes seem to come across as spider legs, you may want to rethink wearing those lashes.

You are wearing a really dark liner with a light lip color: Stop with the 80’s look! You either want to use the dark liner to fill in your lips & then apply clear lip gloss OR use the same shade of lip liner for your lip color.

You shaved off your eyebrows, and then drew them in: No, no, no, no! I mean, what were you thinking?? Apart from the fact that you’d be scaring people off when you got no makeup on, you will have this “old and tired” look. Don’t do it!

You are wearing a really bright eye shadow: Leave that look to the fashion models on photo shoots and runways, please.

You are wearing a lipstick that’s frosty-looking: Sigh. Just find another color that will bring warmth to your overall look.

We all want that look that is not stressful, that could take 10 minutes or less and maybe just simple on days when we probably woke up really late, days we have to get to class or work and do not have time for “frivolous” makeup! My dear, you definitely do not want to head outside looking like that to work. You really want to have a well-rested and fresher appearance.

Eye shadows should be subtle, neutral and soft. Using a highlighter all over your lids also gives your eyes a brightening effect.

Look for a two in one product like a cream blush that can be used as a lip color which is a time-saving tactic.

You could also use the highlighter to play up on your cheekbones and put on some mascara to make your eyes look awake.

Another speedy way to get your makeup done in 5 minutesor less is to put on a little blush or bronzer on your cheekbones, dab on some concealer under your eyes, put on some mascara(with an eyeliner, if you have the time) plus a little bit of lipgloss and Voila! You are good to go, missy!

I got a couple of tips for looking simply amazing in photos (with makeup on, of course). This is to ensure that you don’t come out looking like a “white face”, like I like to call it .

Always apply a moisturizer before anything else. This is very important for people with dry skin. Ashy skin ain’t cute at all!

Wear a primer. The primer helps prevent oil or shine on your face. It also ensures that your makeup lasts a pretty long time.

When you buy a foundation, try testing it out by taking pictures with and without flash so you dont end up with a “white face”.

Stay away from foundations that have SPF if you are going to a red carpet event at night. Tends give that WF look too.

Apply your foundation lightly too so it doesn’t look overdone in photos.

Try using a little more color on your lips so you don’t look dull in pictures.

A lil’ bit of blush and bronzer makes a lot of difference in pictures too!

Set your makeup with a translucent powder. Tap out excess powder before putting it on your face.

And lastly, just smile!

I recently started working at a Car dealership where I was given a script to answer every call that comes in from customers interested in purchasing the company’s cars. Now, to sum the script up, we (employees) are to tell customers that every car they have an inquiry about is in extremely high demand, and that they MUST come in for an appointment as soon as possible. Otherwise, the war will be completely sold out. During a discussion with my friends, I came to find out that this idea of being “scripted”, and having to follow a particular format is in fact VERY common. Let me give an example to help you understand.

1). I had a previous job at Abercrombie & Fitch, a clothing store that I am sure many people are familiar with, where I was first informed that I could only wear certain types of earrings, and have certain color nail polish. Now many of you are probably thinking “well, that’s normal, every store/ company has a dress code”. And I am not disputing that, but when they told me that I could only wear THEIR clothes, I found it a bit absurd. I took offense in the idea that I was not only being forced to wear clothing that I normally wouldn’t wear, but that I was also being controlled by this franchise that in the big picture represented society.

It is this idea of companies/ franchise representing society that brings me to the main reason why I am writing this article. Many individuals in the society feel oppressed because they are being controlled, and are being told, what to do, how to do it, and when to do it. As a result of this oppression, many seek out opportunities in which they can be “different”. (Hence, the picture of Lady Gaga, an individual whom many people in the society label DIFFERENT, and maybe even WEIRD). We have often heard people say “I’m unique; I am not like everyone else”. But are we truly unique? I know some of you are probably confused at this point, but let me further explain myself.

When we so desperately want to be different, or to be “unique”, we most likely end up being or behaving like everyone else who also wants to be different. So in other words, while trying to escape society’s norms and controlling ways, we end up placing ourselves in a group of people who also want to escape society’s norms. So I ask again, does the word “unique” truly exist? I mean are we special individuals, or are we just minute parts of this HUGE machine that is called society?
