By now, its no news what Wale’s album sales were, for the first crucial week – 28k icon sad So who bought Wales Attention Deficit? | Why and Why not?

In the video below Wale himself, while at Club Love in D.C. over the weekend, he addressed the low sales of Attention Deficit and how it was under shipped, 30k.

What do you think of the Man, and his album? Did you buy the album, like I did, if not why? And if you bootlegged it, share your thoughts.

Below is what one of Wale’s female fans thinks of his “freshman” album.

Wale has been dedicated to the hip hop game and felt that many have not being paying attention to hip hop and he wants to change that. Hence, the name of the album.

Many of us know him from his collaboration with Lady Gaga, “Chillin” and with the (in)famous Lil Wayne, “Nike Boots.” However, this album shows us that he has a lot of potential. It is like nothing we have ever heard before. He uses his experiences growing up to teach the listeners a lesson.

The album is a blend of collaboration with seasoned pros like Bun B (Mirrors) and Gucci Mane (Pretty Girls) and up and coming artistes like Melanie Fiona(Beautiful Bliss) and K’naan(TV in the Radio.)

At first, I felt the album was decent seeing that I rarely listen to hip hop. However, after listen to it a couple of times at a friends house this past week, I feel that “Attention Deficit” sums up the concept of the album. “Shades” featuring Chrisette Michele hits home to many individuals in our society today. Many people being of a darker shade go through a phase in their lives where they resent the color they are.

This song expresses that no matter what shade you are, you are still beautiful. Another intriguing song on the album is “90210.” It expresses how many people are willing to be apart of the Hollywood scene, not knowing what it is really like.

A fan, Funmi Adekanbi, feels the song “Diary” Featuring. Marsha Ambrosius expresses the way that many young women feel today. “It feels like Wale took a look into my personal diary. Many women are afraid to fall in love because of bad experiences that they had in the past.”

“Attention Deficit” is something that you, – everyone must get. It shows that Wale put his heart and soul into this album. It is now rare in the hip hop industry that you see someone so dedicated to his music.

Now, over to you, what say you?

I don't like Hip-hop that much.. Infact, when I heard about Wale.. I was just like OK..good thing, a naija guy is out there… I didn't buy his album..but a friend sent it to me..I was kinda reluctant at first but I got bored and decided to listen to it. And I actually loved it. I'm not a big hip hop fan, u will hardly catch me listening to rap except if it's by Common of cos..but dis guy definitely got my attention… I can't say he needs more publicity (maybe dat's why he didn't sell)..but he is pretty out there from what I have seen..hmm I hope he gets wat he wants..and U guys we go fight ooo… I am still waiting for my Ipod..ahh na so I dey sit for door step waiting for dat Mail man to knock on d door… it's not fair ooo.. LOL I still love y'all tho.

PS: Can u guys do something about the connection.. I like seeing my pic here when I leave a comment:D..but lately it keeps saying Amebor is under construction:$

Wale is wack as hell. In as much as I want Nigerian representation in the mainstream — I want someone on the scene with more substance. What is soulful about Wale's album, what is unique about his flow or even his voice. As an avid hip hop fan (BX all day!), I say NEXXXT! Who else is out there. Anyone who truly understands and appreciates hip hop knows Wale has no true long lasting talent.
