Reports reaching us has confirmed that several people have been killed in what seems like a series of co-ordinated attacks in the Nigerian city of Kano. The militant group Boko Harram, who has been behind all the terrorist attack to have been carried out in Nigeria recently has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Reports from officials and witnesses have indicated the death of at least seven people and the occurrence of at least six explosions. As at press time, the City of Kano says there was panic in the city as plumes of smoke rose into the sky. Among the places targeted are the regional police headquarters in the west, police stations near the centre and the south of Kano. In what seems to be big blow to the Journalism community in Nigeria, Channels TV has confirmed that its reporter, Enenche Akogwu, 31, died in the Kano explosions. To further drive home their point, Boko Harram dropped propaganda leaflet all over Kano as they attacks were executed.
