Dec 27, 2009 – It certainly worked for Tiwaworks, no other way to put it, it worked.
After seeing a good turn-out for the pre party on Christmas eve, the stage was set for the All Black Everything Christmas party by Tiwaworks.
In classic Lagos style the party got started a bit late – people started strolling in around 12 or there about. As one will expect, most patrons came in black outfits, in various tints and shades. I most however point out that there were some rebels who just didnt get the memo, including your truly. I’m with those who did come in black outfits – my quip: “I think I’m black enough.”
With DJ Zimo and DJ Mighty Mike on the table by the pool side, and Chicago’s own DJ Dee Money and DJ 3k spinning for those on the dance floors and VIP areas indoors. It was certain we were in for a fun filled night. The venue, Tribeca night club, is for sure top notch; the ambiance indoors was such that will get you in the party mood.
Sometimes between 3am and 3:30, soccer star Obafemi Martins and Osaze Odemwingie rolled in with their entourage, soon to be followed by rapper, M.I, and then Banky W.
The P Square twins couldn’t make an appearance, apparently spent after their performance at the Rhythm Unplugged concert across the street at the Ocean view. Also missing on the night was Omawumi.
Despite those absences, the live performances were action packed, enough to get everyone on the indoor dance floor, the DJs included, out to the pool side.
M.I opened with what seemed like a 15minute long performance, followed by Banky W, Wiz Kid, Kel, Naeto C, and YQ rounding up the live performances. Then it was 5:45 am, it was go time.
Overall, it was a successful event, kudos to Tiwaworks. I had a blast, and I can imagine I’m not the only one who feels that way.
Now before we get to the photos, I have one question, based on what I noticed on the night of the event. Why do people have a hard time paying the gate fee for event they dressed up to attend?
