King Kuron

King Kuron is a very gifted musician and a good songwriter. He is very versatile and has a unique style of reggae, with a blend of afro beat and hip-hop he calls “afro reggae pop”. His music journey started a while back in Nigeria where he formed a label Soundyard Records and packaged some songs which were released and sold on the streets of Lagos .The cd was called “Oloyede”. King Kuron had many videos made and shown on tv stations as well as having his songs played on various radio stations. Living in London, a city with vast cultures and styles of music, has even expanded his musical idealogy and is currently in an afro band working on various projects. Working with the band has redefined who Kuron is and where music is taking him. Please enjoy and leave comments. Tell US @amebor what you think.

MHF Charity Banquet

In 2007, MHF kicked off in Ibadan Nigeria by sponsoring 15 children, and by 2008,MHF expanded its scope to rehabilitation of public school classrooms andlaboratories in addition to 25 more sponsorships for children in the public
school sector, and 10 children from an HIV/AIDS orphanage in Uganda. In 2009, in addition to the continuation of the sponsorships for the children
in Uganda and Nigeria, we announced our intent to build libraries to give more students access to quality books and education material. In doing this, we will be able to reach more children and educate more minds.

In December 2010, MHF as, as announced, have added 2 major library projects to our goals in 2 cities namely Lagos State, and Akoko-Edo State in Nigeria to be able to enhance the education experience of more children. Furthermore, MHF will be rolling out “Operation Growth”, a program that will
encourage youth in hygiene and self esteem.

We hope that after attending this Fundraising Banquet,
you will leave with a renewed sense of support for the children of the
developing world and you will understand the major impact your support
will make in their lives.

UNIHIV-HIV/AIDS Movie Premiere for ‘Rebirth’, Chicago, IL

Chicago, Il – July 24, 2010. Nigerians in Chicago experienced a ‘rebirth’ on Saturday, July 24th when UNIHIV, Project Inc, Naija Fitness, and Producer/Director Bolanle Ninalowo premiered the movie REBIRTH for the first time ever.

The movie was about HIV/AIDS and the realities of this disease in Nigeria and in Nigerian relationships. It starred an all African cast of Elebeli Elebua, Tuvi James, Ngozi Ezenou, and Ada Fergusen, and educated the audience on the importance of better sex practices and the importance of getting tested.

After the movie, director/producer, Bolanle Ninalowo who has vested interest in promoting HIV/AIDS awareness and has donated time and effort to the HIV/AIDS and African communities held a question and answer session where he spoke to the attendees about why he put the movie together. He along with Project Inc founders, Hassan Ninalowo and Ugo Asiegbu, were presented an award of excellence for service to HIV Awareness by UNIHIV.

Project Inc and UNIHIV came together to highlight Ninalowo as well as the message behind his movie. In addition, UNIHIV handed out 200 red condoms at the event as part of their 10K RED Campaign, as well as educational materials to educate Chicago-area residents about HIV/AIDS prevention.

“Many times we are shown those affected by HIV/AIDS in Eastern and Southern Africa well after their families have been torn apart by the disease, and/or when they have succumb to full blown AIDS. Here, Ninalowo talks about the effects of the disease at the time of infection, the social and economic impact, the stigma that needs to be removed and the hope for those infected.”-Angel Adelaja, Co-founder/Director of Operations UNIHIV

“It is an honor to work with Project Inc and Bolanle Ninalowo. The partnership was only natural when we saw that the commitment he had to this cause mirrored ours. It’s an amazing gripping movie with a fantastic plot and we hope that this movie can be used as a means to educate people on the importance of better sex practices and the importance of getting tested”- Tony Abara, Co-founder/Director of Business Affairs UNIHIV

The Chicago based Nigerians definitely came out to show support for this event and show their support for such a great cause. Promoters such as Fanzi, and Wale Spinero were out as well as the Nigerian DJs Coalition including the popular DJ DeeMoney, DJ Diesel, and DJ Fineboy, who also spun at the after-party.

The afterparty was at Mahoney’s Pub and Grille and people were still talking about the movie as they arrived ready to party. Here’s what one person had to say to as they were interviewed entering the afterparty venue…

The MecMen

I first met the MecMen at the Nigerian Reunion in Long Island, NY. I was handed a CD and of course I listened to it. A track that stood out to me was Omo Naija. I love my country(NAIJA ALL DAY), so I immediately loved it. “OMO NAIJA WE NO DEY BOW DOWN”. They had 3 other tracks on their demo mix that was given out. “Shayo Everywhere” is more of that club banger feel. The kind of song where you know you wanna have a drink in your right hand, and a girl(or guy for the ladies) dancing freely on you. “OMO ELE” is a nice track, I like the beat, the lyrics had me at a bit of a chuckle. Some of the lyrics are on point with how some Nigerian females act, with all their shakara But gotta love our African women though. So far I feel they have the potential, they are almost there, but not quiet. But don’t count them out, I feel a big hit coming out from this group very soon. The pageant honors a young woman based on her poise, intelligence and appreciation for Nigerian culture. I guess a concert wont be complete without screaming/swooning fans, and scheming groupies.

At this P Square concert in Queens, New York, July 24, we saw some fans (females of course) throw their underwear at the Okoye brothers, aka P Square.

And yes we caught on camera, a desperate babe/fan/groupie climbing the stage like a prisoner escaping from jail!!!

"Lucky" guy got a hand full of, you know what, while helping her climb...

We’ll like for her to come and share with us how the night ended after she got on that stage – and back stage
